REGENTS PARK ROAD IMPROVEMENTS MOOTED

The Joondalup Business Association has advised that business operators and residents of Regents Park Road in City North Joondalup will have the opportunity to have their say in the future development of their area.

JBA President Russell Poliwka said that it was resolved to establish a reference group as a JBA sub committee to explore the immediate needs of the area.

“The decision to establish the group was made following a recent meeting between business operators, residents, Mayor Troy Pickard & Councillors and the JBA to discuss input to the Draft Joondalup City Centre Structure Plan, “Mr Poliwka said.

“At that meeting several participants stated that while the structure plan dealt with matters in the long term there were more pressing needs that demanded attention in the short term including streetscape, parking and signage.

“It was generally accepted that the original vision of Landcorp had not come to fruition or met expectations therefore it was necessary to look at what we can do about that for the benefit of those who live and operate businesses here,” Mr Poliwka said.

Alan Turner of The Vitali Group will chair the Regents Park Road Reference Group (RPRRG) and report to the JBA Executive on suggested initiatives that might be adopted to address immediate issues.
