JBA Auction Huge Success

The Joondalup Business Association’s annual auction dinner, sponsored by Community Newspaper Group, was held on 29 August at Bridgeleigh Reception Centre in Wanneroo.

JBA President Russell Poliwka said the night was a great success and was due to the generosity of JBA members & guests who donated goods for auction and attended the dinner to bid on the many bargains on offer.

“It was a fantastic night and guests had a lot of fun bidding for items including pearls, barbecues, accommodation and wine packages to name just a few,“ Mr Poliwka said.

“In keeping with our ‘Buy Local’ policy we decided this year to support the Salvation Army Heathridge to enable it to deliver its wide-ranging and diverse services to areas of need in the community,” Mr Poliwka said.

A cheque for $3,000 was presented to The Salvation Army by Community Sales Manager Lynn Allen who said it was a great pleasure for the group to be involved in the event and looked forward to continuing the relationship in the future.

On receiving the cheque Captain Cymon Brooks of The Salvation Army Heathridge said it was heart warming to see the generosity of the small business community in helping the needy particularly those who have been affected by the current economic situation.
