JBA ON PAR AGAIN

30 teams ensured the success of the 2010 Oracle Group Corporate Classic golf day, coordinated by the Joondalup Business Association, at Australia’s # 1 golf resort on Tuesday 23 February.

JBA President Russell Poliwka said that team entries this year returned to near record numbers after a lower than usual turnout in 2009 and believed this wonderful response is an indicator that the economy is once again gaining strength through the small business sector.

“This year’s event was supported once again by our major sponsor The Oracle Group together with our many regular, and new, hole and prize sponsors whom we thank enormously.” he said.

Features of the event this year included an “In The Bin” novelty, sponsored by Affordable Mini Bins, where players had the opportunity to land a specially marked ball in a skip placed on the driving range. While they literally gave it their best shot, no one was successful and the $1,000 cash prize was donated to The Salvation Army Heathridge to help it deliver welfare services to needy local families. Also on offer was $500 cash for closest to the Oracle Group sign.

The team winners on the day were Oracle Group 3, on a count back from Sleepys Joondalup in second place. Third place went to Everwest Developments with Community Newspaper Group a creditable fourth.

“The JBA would like to thank its sponsors in the Oracle Group, First Western Realty, Mortgage Choice Joondalup, Quality Resort Sorrento Beach, Affordable Mini Bins, Community Newspaper Group, Aussielite, Griffiths Coffee, Joondalup Resort, Joondalup City Hotel, Hillarys Harbour Resort, Joondalup Health Campus, Commonwealth Bank, Hartley Estate, Australia Post, ANZ, Sugar & Spice Patisserie, Mindarie Marina, Andrea Mitchell MLA, McKinley Plowman & Assoc and Subaru Wangara, ” Mr Poliwka said.
