Tourism Assistance Applauded
The Joondalup Business Association has praised the State Government’s recently announced initiative to help ease labour shortages in the tourism industry.
JBA President Russell Crook said the injection of some $590,000 directed towards programs to attract and retain workers, particularly for the hospitality industry, is a positive step in addressing this current issue.
“Joondalup regional growth is starting to peak and the tourism industry is a big part of that. To that end the JBA is supporting the push by the City of Joondalup to establish a Tourism Precinct for Joondalup,” Mr Crook said.
“Early indications from recent surveys show overwhelming support for such a precinct and the Government’s plan, which includes boosting attraction programs and developing more marketing materials to support the industry, will certainly add strength to that proposal.
“We also welcome the opportunity for industry employers to participate in consultation by attending a workshop planned for later this month,” Mr Crook said.
