JBA and COJ working together

The Joondalup Business Association recently hosted a working luncheon for the Mayor & Councillors of the City of Joondalup at the Joondalup Resort.

JBA President Russell Crook said the purpose of the informal gathering was to enhance the relationship that has been established over the last seven years and also provide the opportunity to meet with newly elected councillors.

“The Association has established an excellent working relationship with both the Councillors and administration staff of the City through our proactive involvement in many projects relating to the small business community including the Regional Purchasing Policy (Buy Local), CBD Enhancement project, Regional Marketing Group, Business & Community Directory, Joondalup Business Incubator (Centre) to name just a few,” he said.

“In representing the small business community of Joondalup we are very pleased to host what has become a tradition for our organisations in continuing to develop the successful partnership with the City, however, we still have work to do with regard to the growth and development of our city including CBD parking, Central Walk, Southern Business District and Business Park traffic management,” Mr Crook said.

In thanking the JBA on behalf of the elected members Mayor Troy Pickard reiterated the importance of a strong relationship between the City and the small business community and that such informal meetings would ensure Councillors were kept aware of current issues affecting small business.
