Errant Venture Founder, Neil ‘Gerry’ Gerrard, has a military background serving in East Timor and Iraq. When he finished in the military, Gerry wanted a way of continuing to help people and wanted to teach how to be financially efficient and run a business properly.
Gerry strongly believes that with the right systems in place a business can thrive because valuable time is saved for working on more important tasks and fewer mistakes are made. Staying in Touch
Liz is the Creative Director and Marketing Strategist in her company, Staying in Touch – a marketing, graphic design, and web development studio based in Connolly.
An MBA from UWA, and many years experience in business, means Liz can apply her expertise in marketing, business development and strategic thinking to assist her clients. She has been an active member of the JBA since 1995, when she launched Staying in Touch, and had previously served on the Board for four years.
Liz has been a member of the Joondalup Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) roundtable since it was formed in 2021. The JEDI meet regularly to facilitate collaboration between key stakeholders and business representatives to drive Joondalup’s future economic objectives.
Liz’s passion for helping businesses develop and grow has motivated her to take on various roles over the years. She was a Small Business Advisor for the WA Business Growth Centre for two years, and has held positions on boards including the State Training Board Small Business Training Committee, the Business Enterprise Centre Joondalup Board, and the McCusker Learning & Development Strategic Advisory Group. From 1997 to 2020 Liz was a member of BPW Australia (Business & Professional Women) and held board positions at local, state and national levels. She has presented at many conferences, seminars and workshops on topics related to business and marketing.

Having been the Sales Manager for the Joondalup and Wanneroo Times and previously based in Joondalup for over 5 years, Max has an appreciation of the business challenges within the area.
Max served as president of the JBA for two years and remains on the Board as Vice President to support the growth of business in the region.

Jan Devlin, a seasoned business management professional, has been at the helm of the Gravity Discovery Centre and Observatory as CEO since 2014. With a Bachelor's degree under her belt, Jan brings a wealth of expertise to her leadership role.
Before assuming her current position, Jan held the position of Managing Director at Kidskills Australia from 1994 to 2010. During her tenure, she orchestrated nationwide movement programs that left a lasting impact. Simultaneously, Jan managed Jets Gymnastics venues in Melbourne from 2000 to 2004, showcasing her versatility in business management.
In a notable development, Kidskills Australia was acquired by Jets Gymnastics in 2010, and Jan transitioned to the role of General Manager for Jets-Kidskills Australia until 2012. In 2013-14, Jan ventured into a different realm, managing the Aboriginal Shire Multi-Purpose Centre in the remote FNQ Indigenous Community of Kowanyama.
Since her arrival in Perth in 2014, Jan's dedication and acumen have steered the Gravity Discovery Centre and Observatory towards new heights. Her fervent passion for effective business management resonates deeply within the organization.

Serial entrepreneur and professional genius in the digital marketing space, Eby Mathew started his career in the corporate world working in one of the multinational corporations and technology giants of the time, Intel.
While the corporate world gave him great insight into systems, processes and influential networks, his entrepreneurial spirit drew him towards the small business world. He moved to the Middle East where he began working as a business development manager. This opened a completely new world to him where he saw the diversity and potential for growth in small and medium businesses.
He grew a passion for small to medium businesses and a love for technology which kept him on a constant path of innovation, automation and growth.
When he moved to Australia, he worked in various companies in diverse roles constantly learning at every stage about different aspects of business operations.
Finally, he started his own marketing agency and quickly grew it to a 6-figure business.
Running the agency continually exposed him to several industries and many business opportunities presented themselves to him. Connecting with various influencers he gained vast experience and knowledge in a wide range of industries.
From there he developed a love for software and real estate. Having a heart that wants to give back to the community, Eby began working with NDIS licensed personnel to help build quality dwellings for disabled people while bringing profits to the investors.

Michelle Jenkins JP
An experienced business leader in Corporate and NGO positions holding Executive and CEO positions for over 25 years. Michelle has worked with the Corporate and NGO sector and has sat on Government NFP and Corporate Boards both in Australia and the UK, with experience in Strategy, Finance and Acquisitions/Mergers and Governance. Michelle was a Finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s awards 2019.
In her spare time, Michelle is a Justice of the Peace, a Board Director of BizLink (WA) awho support individuals with a disability in employment and the Aged and Community Care Providers Association (National) Board which is the peak body for the Aged Care sector.
Michelle is also passionate about supporting women into leadership roles and in mentoring and coaching future female leaders and a life long learner. She is currently studying transpersonal counselling and art therapy.
Michelle holds a Master's in Business Leadership, Diploma of Management - governance and financial planning qualifications in Australia and the UK.

Associate Professor (Dr) Joshua Aston is the Associate Dean (Law) and a member of the Executive Team in the School of Business and Law, Edith Cowan University based in Western Australia. He has served as the former Dean and Assistant Professor of Law at Gujarat National Law University, (India). and Assistant Professor of Law and Deputy Director of Symbiosis Law School, (India)..
He is a recipient of the (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) DAAD scholarship and was a Research Scholar by the Institute of Air, Space and Cyber Law, University of Cologne, Germany. He is a Fellow of the Asian Law Institute, National University of Singapore, Singapore. Dr Aston is an Honorary Lieutenant Commander in the Indian Sea Cadet Corps and served the Royal Naval Reserve (UK) for 2 years.
He is a member of various academic committees and bodies at the University as well as other Universities and Institutes where he actively participates and advises on various academic and legal issues.
